About BGN

A family of churches, joined in covenant.

Bethesda Global Network exists to build meaningful covenant relationships among churches and leaders — and to expand the Kingdom of God around the world through the work and ministry of the Holy Spirit.

Who We Are

Serving churches as they fulfill their God-given calling.

Bethesda Global Network (BGN) is a global network of Christian churches, ministries, pastors, and leaders connected to Bethesda Community Church in Fort Worth, Texas.

Our purpose is to serve, strengthen, equip, encourage, and provide spiritual and relational support for ministers, ministries, and churches as they accomplish their God-given calling — with an emphasis on expanding the Kingdom of God across the globe through the work and ministry of the Holy Spirit.

Our Foundation

Rooted in Bethesda Community Church.

Bethesda Community Church was established in 1934 in Fort Worth, Texas. For more than ninety years, this congregation has served its city and sustained a legacy of ministry.

Bethesda Global Network grows out of that legacy. BGN operates under the leadership and oversight of Dr. Wayman Ming Jr., Lead Pastor of Bethesda Community Church, and is led by Pastor Álvaro Matehuala.

Our Identity

One Kingdom, expressed through many peoples.

The network is intentionally multi-ethnic, multi-lingual, and multi-generational — because the Kingdom of God is.

Multi-ethnic

Churches and leaders from many cultures and peoples, reflecting the Kingdom of God.

Multi-lingual

Ministry across languages — including English- and Spanish-speaking congregations today.

Multi-generational

Honoring those who came before us; raising up those who will follow.

The Vision

One Church. 100 Locations.

The unity of this vision is spiritual, relational, missional, and theological — churches of like faith working together in relationship while fulfilling God's calling in their own communities.

Network churches are not branch campuses of Bethesda Community Church. Some carry the Bethesda name; others — like Vino Nuevo in Arlington and Amor y Restauración in Guadalupe — keep the names and identities they have carried for years. Both are fully BGN Network Churches.

Every Network Church retains

  • Its own local leadership and governance
  • Its own finances and property
  • Its own culture, traditions, and ministry rhythms
  • Its own nonprofit and legal status, where applicable

How We Relate

Autonomous. Connected. Accountable.

Autonomous

Every Network Church is self-governing. BGN does not own, operate, or control network churches — each church keeps its own leadership, property, finances, and identity.

Connected

Network Churches walk in covenant relationship with one another — praying, fellowshipping, serving, and building the Kingdom together rather than building their own.

Accountable

Relationship carries a healthy, functional accountability — pastors and leaders who encourage, strengthen, and speak into one another's lives and ministries.

What We Value

The commitments that hold us together.

  • Covenant relationship
  • Functional accountability
  • Prayer
  • Fellowship
  • Mentoring
  • Leadership development
  • Strategic support
  • Serving one another
  • Building God's Kingdom — not our own
